Did someone replace bottom-out bumper on WP fork? It seems damper cartridge needs to be disassembled and I don't want it broken. |

I must do it myself if bottom-out bumper is important. There is no fork specialty shop in Korea that I know of. |

I just rebuilt both of my forks last fall and don't remember messing with a bumper. Do you have a reason to believe that yours needs replaced?? I looked in my service manual and parts manual, and don't see any kind of bumper listed so I assume if it's in there, you'd have to pull apart the damper cartridge. I'd say you'd have to call WP directly for instructions on that, but unfortunately I assume their only instruction is going to be "send the fork(and cash) to us and we'll rebuild it. I feel like as long as your springs are in good shape, and you have the proper weight oil in your fork you should be fine. |

Bottom-out bumper is literally half gone on both legs. You can see it but can't replace it without disassembling damper cartridge. I will post pictures this weekend. I am looking for advice from someone who did it before. |

Looking down inside, 1/3 bumper is gone. I found the debris while draining old oil and threw it away. On the other leg, 1/2 is gone. Bumper is not held down by anything but friction so sometimes it comes out with rebound damper rod, but somehow I could not get it out this time. |

No, shipping forks across pacific ocean would cost ~$100 ~ $200 one way. Better buy new set. |

Forks are WP ROMAs for S2, just for clarity. |

Maybe I can make some bumpers from hard rubber block or something else myself, as they are nothing special. What I want to know is how to disassemble cartridge without breaking it. (Message edited by s2forever on January 08, 2017) |
