You could contact Pete from SRW Moto ,maybe he can help you with it. Or find someone who can make some sort of template for you so you have something to begin with. |

I grabbed the metmachex tank in the advert, still sitting in a draw at the moment. I know I paid too much, but these hardly ever pop up on ebay (and i'm too tightfisted to buy new) |

That one M2 tank that was listed says he thinks it'll fit an S1 too. M2 and S1 tanks aren't interchangeable, are they? I know the subframes are completely different but I didn't know if the mounting points all happened to still be the same. |

Early M2 are similar to S1...but late M2 are totally different (those are more like S3 frames...actually VERY similar if not the same, because I've seen many late M2s with S3 fairings that bolt right on). |

Early M2 are similar to S1 Yeah, they're both made of steel tubes - just like the S3... M2 (any year) oil tanks are interchangeable with (any year) S3. S1 oil tank is unique. X1 oil tank (obviously) is unique. |

Yeah, they're both made of steel tubes - just like the S3... I was thinking/speaking of rear subframe dimensions there, boss...that's all. I know a lot of folks swap S1 seats/tails onto early M2's, was the only reason I mentioned it. Not sure if the oil tanks interchange because I've never needed to try it - my M2 is a late frame '01.

'M2 (any year) oil tanks are interchangeable with (any year) S3. S1 oil tank is unique.' - in shape, but the M2 oil tank will mount straight in the space and it holds a little more oil |

"S1 oil tank is unique.' - in shape, but the M2 oil tank will mount straight in the space and it holds a little more oil" Good to know. Mine has a slight leak and I wouldn't mind picking up a spare someday. No issues with the bigger M2 tank hitting the swingarm, or taking up space for the electrical parts under the tail? |
