Resurrecting my Buell X1 - 2000 Racing Stripes (611/800)... Found out the intank fuel pump filter disintegrated... Fuel pump dead. But no worries, found a replacement without buying the whole housing. Was wondering tho, the inline fuel filter could have been hurt too, and planning on replacing it. Should I go for the stock one ? Any working alternative brands ? I dont mind a flashy one... I understood from a few searches on the forum that i should stay off the plastic ones ? Any thoughts would be appreciated :-) |

i got a billet one from ebay i think. You can take it apart and service it if you want. Pretty cheap, i think it was like $10. I have had no problems so far. I would change it out. Its cheap and you get the peace of mind. |

The plastic one (original to my 99) was recalled and replaced with steel, so yes, I would steer clear of plastic. |

Nothing wrong with OE. Just make sure the one you do get is for fuel injection, and can withstand 50+ psi, what the Buell system runs at. |
