Mine is shot and I was wondering if anyone had any long term reviews or opinions on the twin motorcycle shock. Right now I am inbetween the and the low dollar works. I don't ride real hard or do track time but I am looking at this bike as long term. And bang for the buck matters to me. Thanks for the help. |

"And bang for the buck matters to me." A thought. Your riding season is soon to be over. Why not, during the Winter, send your shot rear shock to Race Tech! They can rebuild it for about 300 simoleans http://www.racetech.com/ http://www.racetech.com/ProductSearch/2/Buell/X1%2 0Lightning/1999-2002 |

How many Mile's has your bike got on it now? & was that original shock? my bike has 100,000k ( about 60,000mile ) the original had been rebuilt once it went again few years back with 70,000k up i got a new old stock M2 L shock from Lance, & its still going fine , noticed a gain fitting it, over rebuilt used original. if it goes i'll look for an improvement. but its a 16 year old bike. |

Just bit the bullet and ordered the works performance. Ugh but can't wait at the same time. A lot of money into bringing this bike back to life but it has always been a favorite and I want it right. |

Later. This is 2,700 into the bike this month. And I am not riding in any way toward the full potential of this shocks performance but there wasn't much out there besides the works/penske/twin. And for the 200.00 more than the twin and not waiting for shipping overseas I liked the value/options of the works. (Message edited by Charger22 on August 23, 2016) |

Congrats on the getting a great shock! I hear what you are saying about the $$ outlay, never seems to end with these bikes, but it is fun making them better. The rear shock is a must when the factory plays out and I love my Penske. That said, respringing and adding the Racetech Gold Valves to the forks (I think I spent about $300 6 years ago) made an even bigger difference than the rear shock! Together they are hands down the best improvement (among many) that I have made to my S3! |

Good Luck with the Works Shock, i had a works shock on a Shovelhead years ago & was a top shock! where can i see a pic? for me being in Australia, i would have to ship no matter. Scott what model Buell forks did you fit the Race Tech Gold Valving too? as i had custom set up Race Tech Shocks & custom rebuilt to my weight race tech springs gold valving in forks on a twin cam Dyna made a big difference. i would like to improve my forks too. |

Alfau, I've always seen these on some of the radical custom Buells and had wondered where to get them or who even made them. Thanks for posting the link. |

There where others that produced them at one point or another. My thing is they are even more money than the proven works and penski shocks. So why bother? |
