Thanks. I think you were right about the Westec bars not really suiting the bike, having seen the pics above. I prefer the black bars quite a bit. |

I have been stuck not able to work on the bike. Either I have been sick or putting the wood floor in the house. Spen the night in the hospital last night from an infection in my chin from a stupid ingrown hair! |

Really enjoying your progress. What bars are those? They are exactly what I'm going for. Excited to see how you do the dash so i can get some ideas. I'm planning on making a custom dash using the stock gauges that will bolt on using the bar brackets. |

The bars are a steel super bike bar I got off eBay for 30. They are nice just not a name brand. Wanted steel as O plan to weld on threaded inserts for bar end mirrors |

Alright have this weekend to finish my house remodel and back to the bike! Any hints on the front brake issue? Seams to work fine but they lock up after riding for 10 min? |

I'd check the brake lever at the master cylinder. As a guess, it's probably touching the plunger. As the brake pads ride against the rotor, it heats up. That heat transfers to the brake fluid, which expands ever so slightly. Little bit of push back or pressure against the lever at the plunger and it continues to heat up until the brake finally locks the wheel. Wait 15 minutes for it to cool down and it will probably roll just fine again. If that's the case, removing a bit of material at the lever where it hits the plunger should fix it. |

Got some work done yesterday. Have the wind screen and dash mocked up. Trying to keep it closed off to hide the electrical but also keep it small. The dash will be black following a suggestion above. Have to tear into the harness one more time a few wires are simply to long. Also will mist lokely order new brake lines as both I ordered are to long arggggggg

Hey S1owner, for your dash what thickness aluminum did you use? (I assume it's aluminum). How did you mitigate vibrations/flex? Did you put a bead along it to strengthen it or anything? I'm planning on making my dash with some 1.5mm thick aluminum using the stock analog gauges. I'm worried it won't be strong enough. But I don't think I can go thicker while still using the handlebar brackets as the mounting point (no risers). Thoughts? |

Valguard, I used 1/8" (3.175mm) thick aluminum. Was okay at higher revs, but terrible vibrations at lower. Had to brace it underneath to stop it. Also had a 6mm thick one from Australian company that didn't vibrate at all. Recommend the thicker the better. Hope it turns out for you. (Message edited by newmans3 on February 19, 2016) |

Thanks for the insight! Ya, might have to redesign it a bit if I want to keep it thin. Adding some bracing points or something or other. Thanks! |

Mine is thin but it all ties in to the wind screen its not floating. I may need to redue it but Need to try it out. Waitng for my motogadget m unit and m switch and all new wiring so i can really make it clean |

Ok I have now commited fully to the motogadget munit and m button along with a possible really cool single switch that will control everything! Below is what used to be my harness! I also have designed a garage door opener that will have a micro switch on the bars also. And a trick hidden on off switch.
