Theres plenty of metal workers out there but it wont look like theirs. Frame Crafters does great work. You can get lucky and find a one off like me but thats a long shot. |

The tanks from Holtworks costs a fair bit and you have to be patience ,but you won't be disappointed about the result! That's for sure. |

Thanks guys, When HoltWorks says 30 weeks that's just a long time to wait. |

That's easy ,and gives you time to save some more coin! The first run took more than two year. But the waiting time is worth it 100% |

Sure.....whatever you need to tell yourself....LOL I'm so grateful that my wife is completely oblivious to how much I've spent on motorcycle parts over the years. If my bike didn't have more pressing issues, I would seriously consider one. After all, you would probably end up spending close to that on a good used tank and a proper paint job. At least you know the won't bubble up. That right there is worth it to me. |

That's why i decided to buy it, brand new paint job and not more than a month or so and i can see it's starting to bubble. Sad but i'm going to paint it so i have told them i don't want it polished, go ahead and bash me, but i really don't care to have that much bling. Although if i knew i could get away with reversing out the Buell and then painting it white and put clear over it i might do that. But i fear it would start to oxidize and look like crap. Oh well. |

I don't blame you about the bling thing. I would much rather spend my time riding instead of polishing. I had a set of PM wheels offered to me when I bought my S1. I turned them down. The stock dark gray of my alloy wheels is almost the exact same color as oil mixed with brake dust....PERFECT! The shiny tank is certainly nice to look at, but it wouldn't be for me either. I would end up clear coating the bare aluminum or painting it to match the rest of the body work. |

I may have to get one of those as well, I've admired them for a long time. I've got an old Triumph with a polished aluminum tank, and the upkeep really isn't a big deal. An occasional polishing keeps it looking great. |

Where'd you find that aluminum oil tank? I need one of those bad. Mine won't stop leaking. |

I've seen them for sale on Ebay. I think they run about $500 plus shipping from the UK. They are made by Metmachex I think mine is leaking as well. The whole ass end of my bike is a grimy mess. Not a lot, but just enough to make it filthy. |

No Rice I am surprised to see that you still have the inner hugger installed, mine wouldn't fit when I installed the aluminum oil tank on my S1. |

I've got a Metmachex oil tank that I'd consider selling. It's been briefly used, but is in great shape (and a true work of art). If anyone is seriously interested, shoot me a PM and we can talk.

Metmachex are still going, you will pay the same money buying from them on Ebay as you would getting in touch. Oil tanks and hydraulic clutch conversions currently on Ebay. If what you want is not currently listed, get in touch with them. Their gear is expensive, but great quality. http://www.ebay.co.uk/usr/metmachex77?_trksid=p205 3788.m1543.l2754 |
