I find it complicated to measure the oil level on my x1, i'm wondering if there is any after market dip stick that makes it easier to view, of if any one has moded an xb oil dip stick to make it fit, as it's far easier to see the oil level

Thanks,

If seeing the oil level is the issue, some folks have taken colored heat-shrink tubing and put that over the dipstick.

Having faced the same issue, I made a couple of dipsticks. One was made out of a paint stir stick, that I painted and marked. The other was made out of a scrap of aluminum, approx 3/32 thick. I cut it into a T shape, about 3in long by 1 3/4 across the top. The T shape meant I didn't have to worry about dropping into the tank. Marked the levels on it, painted it white, works well.

Hope this helps, Dave

Stop using good oil.
Non-synth goes dark quickly and you can see it pretty easily.

You can also file a little cross-hatch pattern into the rod, makes it easier to see.

I use the longer COUGH COUGH HD one that has the temp gauge on it. Works perfect and you can grind a tiny notch onto it like the stock one and it works just saying.

I tried two different Temp gauge dipsticks, I couldn't find one that didn't hit the plastic inside the tank, tried to bend one and broke it. Can you find what exact model, or is the X1 oil tank that different from M2?

Thanks for all the help i'm thinking of cutting the xb one and use some heatshrink and atach it to the metal rod, it should make life a bit easier.

Thanks for the replies
