hello all, happy to say i am somewhat of a tuber owner again... although i have yet to see it in person, my dear old dad was kind enough to go scoop this S3 up for me since he was in the area and the deal i worked out with the owner was too good to pass up... http://neworleans.craigslist.org/mcy/5318851475.ht ml Although i don't know a lot of the history, the guy had owned the bike for a couple years and replaced the stator after it wen't south on him. I'm not a big fan of the custom paint but i thought maybe someone on here may recognize it. There is a BRAG badge on the dash so i assumed a PO at one time was active in it.. I'll probably find a second set of body work and sell off the custom painted set, and since i believe it is a 'T' model by the taller bars, i'll look for some bags as well.. cant wait to go visit the folks soon and check her out in person, but in the meantime i couldn't wait to post my new score!! this is my first S3 and needless to say i'm pretty stoked about it..

I don't recall seeing it before, but NICE S3! I might be interested in some/all of the bodywork when it becomes available, 1313 |

Nice looking S3 Was this kind of custom paint jobs a buell thing back in the days? Have seen some in the same style over the years. |

Yeah, I think that's one of the special edition bodywork things you could buy from the factory back in the day. I seem to remember some sort of ugly broken pavement on yellow thing too. |

I font think that is special edition paint. I believe only the X1 and S1 had special edition paint options, though I could be wrong. |

Some months ago there was a blue S3 for sale here with a paint job in some of the same style! Phelan you mean the concrete body work for the X1 !? |

The blue S3 was similar paint but not the same. It didn't have the single skeleton in the center, and the seller mentioned the custom painter he used. There were a few different limited paint options for the X1, including the lava over concrete option. The X1 custom paint set made much more sense to produce because the parts are smaller and much cheaper to produce than the S3 panels. |

Oh yeah and the X1 tank was just a cover so it wouldn't even require any plumbing or electronics. |

I actually sent that link to my friend in baton rouge that I bought my M2 from. I keep telling him to buy another Buell he won't ride so I can buy it for less in 10 yrs. |
