Do you mean clubman style bars? Must clubman bars will not work because they interfere with/intersect the fork adjusters. They also reduce the already marginal steering lock. I run clubmans in reverse which requires bar risers. The U shape is pointed up. The steering lock is slightly reduced. I like the way the U shape matches the dual instrument cluster housing but the bar height is near stock. | ||

Jim do you have any pics would like to see if its really the route I want to go or just stay stock. I like the look of the clubman but I like the stance of my bike now. | ||

My apologies for not getting these earlier. I cut close to an inch off each side but didn't really have to. I did have to drill the hole for the controls. I was limited on the angle choice for the front brake lever but I'm satisfied with how it worked out. I may have had more choice on the front brake angle if I did not cut off the ends. These bars require the use of a 7/8th inch bar riser in order to clear the fork adjusters. This pushes up the dash a bit too high for the flyscreen. I think if I switch the left and right headlamp brackets it will raise the headlight and flyscreen just enough but I've been too lazy to try it. Picts to follow when I resize them | ||

There is a slight reduction in turning radius. Bars closers together but leverage increased with angle make it feel snappy. I think it's probably a bit more comfortable at high speed and possibly a little less comfortable at low speed. Overall I've been pleased. I got the idea from seeing it done on badweb, not sure who it was. I bent my OEM in an accident and a friend gave me these. He had an M2 and was actually running them as standard clubman without the risers. On his bike he was barely able to mount them due to interference at fork adjustments. On mine I could not mount them except in reverse and with the risers. It would be too low for me the standard way but it does look cool. |
