Is there a cross reference for this treacherous thing? I got the dreaded historic trouble code 14 which explains why it's stuttering at low throttle. This part is probably something from an Oldsmobile or something. Thanks in advance, Steve Ford |

I've been using the one for an XB-12. (PN#P0278.4A8A) The temp/resistance curve is identical, and they are a direct fit in the head. The only difference is the connector. If you ask for a tuber version specific to your bike, HD wants to sell you an "update conversion kit" that includes the sensor, and a new connector for your harness. Its about 40 bucks more than the XB part. I've been all over the internet, and thermocouple manufacturers trying to source it from somewhere else, since they seem to be a common failing part, but no luck. The curve seems specific to Buell. Perhaps when EBR gets back on their feet they'll have a similar temp curve part we could adapt to the HD products. Both American Sport Bike and Twin motorcycles (Badweb sponsors) carry these. |

Thanks for the tip! I was able to fix the problem which was the wiring which was being chewed on by the rocker box and cover. Six inches of spiral wrap to keep it from making contact and no more stutter/CEL. |
