Correct purpony. And the ride hieght is lower but I need to set the rear suspension it is at its lightest currently so that will shrink it some. I never measured the distance when I started so all I could do is go off what I got above from a member It could be off also as my assistant could have had the tape in the wrong area. Anyone out there want to double check center to center on a 96 S1 and a 99 X1 Ceejay you were building yours during Joes right? did you ever get it done would love to see a pic or two. Thanks for the great comments its taken alot of work. |

Hey Ken, I just realized you can just put a 2" spacer on the Z bracket with a longer bolt and nylock nut with the 2nd band bracket/clamp to support the muffler. Might save some time & aggravation trying to bend that 1/8" plate I sent along. |

Nice thing about the mirrors is if the glass breaks they are 2 bucks at the auto store. Dschmidt beware if you go this route make sure you fully read the links for Joes Buell and Ceejays and this one. You must have a machinst or be one and be ready to fabricate alot of stuff. And realize it is alot I mean alot of work I will have 2 yrs into it when complete and I dont even want to know the $$$ For all to do this be sure you are commited otherwise you will destroy a Buell for no reason. FYI my original frame is sitting on a shelf of a fellow badwebber to be brought back to life as stock so it will live again. |

Yeah, I couldn't do what you are doing. My modifications are all bolt-ons for that very reason. I just don't have the skill. I can do righty tighty, lefty loosey. |

from earlier - no I didn't get mine finished - life got in the way - all of which were good things except for finishing a bike project. So shelved it and never got back to it. I had it standing on it's own and for the most part ready to start the finish work, but with work, kids, and money... I'd like to give it another go with a few tweaks, because it is such a cool thing as witnessed by Jodie's and how well your's is moving along, but I doubt I'll get back to it anytime soon. Like you stated earlier, it's not a cheap nor simple endeavor, and gets even tough now that I don't have a machine shop or welding set-up at my disposal. Looking good on your end, enjoy. |
