or this I'm going on the assumption it will only have one band clamp and should fit around a 2.5" OD pipe (roughly). Need specific dimensions or a part to use as a template. A CAD drawing will work. I count 15 total at this point, I think it's enough to do them. I've already called my machine shop guy and told him what I want done, just need to give him a firm quantity to commit to. I'll probably do between 20-30 on the first run. This setup would possibly work with the tuber mufflers I build anyway, so I'll try it out on mine also. |

Any guess on price? |

The top one sure looks stronger. Would be nice if it was a combination of the two. I.E. two vertical pieces that engage the mount, and extend over the clamp, perhaps with the gusset in between them. |

Any plan for bushings to isolate the vibration? That was the main change in the stock upgrade... it went from the original vertical planes with holes (like you have) to horizontal tubes with rubber lining. |

It will bolt into the y hanger which is rubber mounted is that enough or does it need more? I guess I am in for one in case I need it!!! |

I think those rubber bushings are built in to the Y mount. |

You do need spacers to fill the gaps between the shoe and the mount. For the stock muffler, it's a tube about an inch long. Ideally, the vertical portions of the new shoe would contact the insides of the Y, like the stock muffler does, so a single spacer could be used to fill the gap. |

I would be in for one if it was made like the top photo of Deans above. I already have a new original race series shoe bracket. |

what about adding a 2nd ear to the part in the first photo - best of both worlds? |

The bottom one will fit the Y-mount with the existing factory spacer in between the ears. The top one would need two shorter spacers (but longer than the factory spacer cut in half, because it's one 'ear' thinner, i.e. missing the other ear.) Either way, put me down for ONE please. |

I get it! I didn't realize this works with the Y mount thingy... for some reason I thought it was an alternative to it. Sorry for nosing in! |

If I remember the top one was designed by Al at American Sport Bike before he bought American Sport Bike from Tat. Don't think any ever got made except maybe one for himself. |

The weak link will be the band clamp itself once I get these made. They're about $10-12 each, I have been using Clampco clamps for about 6 years now and only had a few failures on 1125's, most of those were from overtightening the clamp. |

Looks like we got something going here I do like the new version better but made for the Y hanger w 2 vertical supports & yes we would need a spacer for the bolt. The issue that is obvious is that the clamp would have to fit through or around the slot. I like the 5 star clamps that were OE strong as a shit house. If they could be made to slide in or through that would be great. not familiar with the clampco clamps but Dean your the PRO in the room )) yes Jay there would have to be 2 spacers for the top mnt. the rubber bushings are in the Y mount already I hope we are not stepping on Al's toes ( I have to call him & place an order tomorrow I will speak to him about it |

When the part (S1121.G) was last available (2001?) it was priced at $39.65 - are they still worth that much? |

Having the part in hand would be better. Someone sent me a PM already about it, I just haven't replied yet. Just saw it in my email, so I'll be doing that in a bit. |

I don't know that the top design would be any better than the factory fix. I'll let everyone know once I get an estimate on quantity required for the pricing. |
