Any advice on where to start looking? I am partial to Nelson Rigg, Eclipse and Wolfman. I haven't tried anything on the Buell yet. Looking for a fairly large bag to fit rainsuit etc. |

I haven't figured out the PM system yet...maybe I have to have more posts? BTW, I am up in Canada. We've been riding for 3 weeks now. It's a nice early spring here. |

I have the Cortech Super 12 on my S1 and I think it is the 'Goldilocks' tank bag -- just right. Before the 12, I have the 8 liter version and it was just too small. I can roll a light but wind proof jacket, something like this... http://www.columbia.com/mens-heat-mode-ii-softshel l-jacket-1555941.html ...Then a small point-shoot camera, cell phone, a cargo net, and a multi-tool and that would be good for the day. I could run to the bookstore and the cargo net could hold a couple books on the rear seat. But I would recommend the Cortech 12 liter version. I can carry a little more stuff without the bag looking expedition huge right below my chin. I have, on the way home, stopped by Cafe Rio and packed a beef burrito meal to go in the 12 liter bag. I like a reasonably big bag myself...I use a Nelson Rigg 1035 expandable bag on my Moto Guzzis. That one is 17 liters, expandable to 27 liters. I can actually manage about 3 nights (with a rainsuit and a camera) with just the Nelson Rigg...lol .Expandable bags are the way to go. I will dig a little deeper into the Cortech line. Finding something that will be easy to attach to the Buell is the big problem. |

I went aftermarket, after trying the original Buell bag. Was large enough for a small sandwich and a pack of gum, so moved on to Cortech. As to mounting, used the strap-on bag. Placed the rear strap under the rear tank hold down. For the front, cut the straps to the right length, then 'sealed' the end with a propane torch. Used the same torch to heat a large nail, and burned a hole in each strap. Put the front tank cover hold down screws through the holes. Clip the bag into place. Hope this helps, Dave |

years ago I bought "the stack" from rapid transit, its modular and does a lot things nicely. its magnetic and has a great base with strong magnets for other bikes, it also has one tie down set up at the front to secure it to the neck, and a few snaps so I made my own base tie down point out of webbing and a few buckles from the hardware store to use it on non metal tanks... 3 part modular system. Base = map case middle = large bag top = small bag both bags can be zipped to the base separately or zipped together for more than you would want to carry.... and the middle large bag can be carried as a back-pack with integrated shoulder straps. With the bags unzipped you still have a map case, and each bag has a map case. https://www.google.com/search?q=rapid+transit+tank+bag&biw=1301&bih=612&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=6M70VM3rLMWdNoLAgegK&ved=0CAcQ_AUoAg#imgdii=_&imgrc=ctSXat3bIJAZ9M%253A%3BREg9SxnVBZlkTM%3Bhttp%253A%252F%252Fimages2.revzilla.com%252Fproduct_images%252F0006%252F9523%252FRapid_Transit__The_Stack__Magnetic_Tank_Bag_Black_zoom.jpg%3Bhttp%253A%252F%252Fwww.revzilla.com%252Fproduct%252Frapid-transit-the-stack-magnetic-tank-bag%3B500%3B500 http://www.revzilla.com/product/rapid-transit-the-stack-magnetic-tank-bag
