Hay there all, I have found a few things that may help at least one of you out. A while back I was having trouble with a jerk on take off in 1st gear, I was told it could be a number of things, and I did check a few of them, but all it came down to was the drive belt being too tight, as it has been said in this forum run it as loose as a goose. The next is the wheel bearing on the drive side giving out after low miles that I had read in here, I have just had to replace my wheel bearings, the doubled up bearings were fine and the one on the drive side was poked, what was found is the inner tube is too short by a .047" or 1.19mm as these bearings are not designed for any type of side loading this short tube will always destroy the drive side wheel bearing, the tube I have in there now is 6.530" long. Hope this helps someone. |

That is why there is a TORQUE specification on the axle nuts as over tightening crushes the spacers !!! Also improper drive belt adjustment does not help either ... DRIVE BELT ADJUSTMENT Class 101, just PM me for a copy ... |
