It's getting hard to find a 170 rear tire for my M2. I've been running Michelin Pilot Road 2CT's. The new Michelin PR3's and PR4's don't have a 170 sized rear. Any PR2's laying around are probably old stock. |

I switched between 170's and 180's on my M2. You could feel the difference in profile, but it felt a lot like going between a triangle profile dunlop and a round profile metzler. So you may have to pick a new favorite profile, but you can probably find something you like. And if you do just go from a 170 to a 180 in the same tire, it won't be a day and night difference, just a little different turn in. |

I thought I've heard that you have to get rid of the rear tire hugger to run the 180 size? I don't want to do that. I like the hugger. |

You don't have to get rid of the hugger for a 180 Jim. In any case, go to motorcycle-superstore.com, go to the tire section, type in your tire size, and it will give you about a dozen choices. 170/60-17 is still a common size. |

I have a 180 Bridgestone Hypersport on a PM wheel on the rear of my S3 with stock hugger, no problem. |

Yes, a lot of options. The Metzeler Sportec M5 Interact has my attention at the moment. |
