How are u guys timing the ignition on these carb tubes ? I put in a X1 engine in my m2 and kinda guessed at timing marks - runs good but could be better. Buellistic 101 timing write up for us diy folks ? |

You can time a carbed HD engine like an olde chevy... mark the initial position before beginning - in case you mess up, you can return to the current setting. Get it warmed up, get the RPMS up over 1000 to get on full advance. Turn the point plate in the engine one direction until the bike starts to miss. Note the position. Turn it the other way until it starts to miss, note THAT position. Put the plate between the two points. Lock it down, have a beer. Tried and true.... |

Were they still putting timing marks on the flywheels in 2000? |
