So yesterday I was at work and noticed that my saddlebag bracket was broken at the bottom. I bungied the bag to the tail section hoping to make it around the corner to my buddy's shop when I got off work. I did not. The bracket snapped up top and the bag fell off, dragged by the bungie cable a short distance. I pulled over and bungied the bag and bracket portion on top of the tail. My buddy turned out to be unavailable until 10 AM today, so I took it over to his shop this morning. We welded the bracket back together and added 8 strengthening gussets. Shouldn't go anywhere now : ). Fortunately, the bag only has rash on the lid and the particular lid needed repair anyway, so not a huge issue, just a temporarily ugly one.

I also added a spar from the bracket to the passenger footpegs...cuts down on the flapping.

Nice Joe! So far so good; I went 375 miles yesterday and didn't have any issues. I've noticed my bags don't flap any more either now that I've braced up the rack.

my idea wasn't really my own...I just looked at the hoops on my Uly bags and the light bulb came on. The additional dzus fastener on mine is through the bottom of the inner bag, to help support the dead weight of the bag/luggage.

They've served me well for...oh...six or seven years now : )
