decided to pull my plug because i sometimes get a hick-up at low rpm, especially when rolling into the throttle, bucks hesitates, sounds like its only running on 1, but if i slowly roll into it bike seems fine. also seem to have a hole at around 3k rpm... which i believe to be reversion :/

Looks and sounds lean....I would shim the needle if it's a CV. |

i put my needle at the richest setting just to see what would happen. noticeably better but still need to be more fat. I have to roll into it pretty hard now to hickup, and most of what i thought was reversion is now gone. lighter spring in the slide? or fatter slow jet? cant seem to find any bigger than a .50 |

"CHECK" your "TIMING" before you start any TUNING !!! MAKE SURE YOUR AIR CLEANER IS CLEAN !!! MAKE SURE ALL YOUR CARB. SEALS ARE GOOD !!! |

Buellistic, i just rebuilt the whole carb so all the seals are new as of about a month ago. i'll have to look for a writeup on how to check the timing. i have a light but dont know where to go from there. its stock ignition components afaik. except for the iridium plugs air cleaner is k&n and cleaned Dannybuell, im at about 250ft MSL, so nearly sea level. Hot temps typically 80-105* motor is a 1250 /w stg3 nrhs heads, stock s1 cams, stock header-open, xb12 primary, stock front drive pulley, xb12(or9?)rear pulley carb has dynojet kit installed, so its been drilled, has adj needle shimmed full rich, 205 main and .50 slow |

IMHO static timing is the best way to set the timing ... It is in the FACTORY SERVICE MANUAL that you should already have for your YEAR/MODEL BUELL ... "i" up-dated my OEM IGN MODULE to one that has a LED built in it for setting the timing ... |

Intake seals are the ones at the head manifold joint, your front cylinder is waaaaay lean that should be brown.... |

Ricky, Many years ago I tried to run AV gas in my race bike(two stroke). It was very difficult to tune, because the plugs would not color up(stayed white) AV gas seemed to run a lot hotter than pump gas. Finally quit using it and went to Race gas, problem solved. May not be your problem, but try some different fuel just in case. |

I was thinking same as Cyclonecharlie, what gas are you using? i would tune it through the needle , i don't care for those dyne jet kits. you don't need them as there are a lot of different needles plus like has been said can shim the stock needle up. but like Bulistic said check timing first. |

just to be clear, this plug was colorized with just 91 octane regular fuel from the pump. its a new plug and had not seen avgas yet. |

Do both plugs look like the one shown? If so, you have to have an air leak some where. Is the VOES port connected? Start looking for an air leak thats common to both cylinders. Good Luck. |

I raised the needle to max, its much better. gonna try a .50 slow jet and mid-needle setting. i dont think i have an air leak... the intake seals just got replaced a few months ago |

looking at the plug my opinion is it has too much ignition advance. That's reading off the ground wire. I prefer the unburnt colour to be on the bend. You can adjust the stock ignition total advance by moving the pick up plate back and forth to suit. Don't stress about the figure, just adjust it to what your engine combination needs. Mind you there's far too many variables to get an accurate assesment off here. Is it front or rear plug ? What's the compression ratio of the front and rear ? are they the same ? |

The BEST advice "i" can give you at this time is to call Al at www.AmericanSportBike.com and get a FACTORY SERVICE MANUAL and "PARTS BOOK" for your YEAR/MODEL BUELL ... |
