I'm in need of a new stator for my '98 S1W. A friend and fellow badwebber (Jolly) directed me towards this one from drag specialties: https://www.denniskirk.com/drag-specialties/altern ator-stator-uncoated.ph21693.prd/H21693.sku#rating s It shows fitment for a '98 xl sportster, does anyone know if this will fit my s1? Jolly has expressed concern with the correct wire length as well as fitment. Any input?? Thanks everyone! |

you may have to rewire the plug to fit your bike but otherwise it's identical. Never had to replace a stator but I did use an '03 XL1200S voltage regulator to replace the one that went out on my last S2 and I had to rewire the plug to fit it, but it worked fine. |

If the years match, it's a good bet it's the same part. I don't think Buell changed stators from the HD was using. |

I just purchased the same thing for my M2, more than long enough, fit fine. I have not started it - though |
