I'm picking up an x1 saturday, and would like to powdercoat the tail to match the frame. Where could I acquire such said color?

I don't know why, but the Buell itch came back, and I'm scratching it hard.

The millenium was the first non-hd bike I ever rode on the street, and it changed my life forever. I have regretted getting rid of it for the past 7 years, and am finally going back and putting one back in the garage.

I was meandering on zoomthelist.com, checking for "unicorns" ie westwinds, BMW r1200st, r1200s, other rarities. I checked millenium buell and found one in nashville for 2250. 12k miles on her.

She needs some clear coat, and some TLC, but I am totally stoked to be back on a modern classic.

That's the race kit exhaust, is it not?

He said he had the factory can to go with it.

You can get powdercoat sample panels from powderbuythepound.com . They will also mix u custom powder for $75 plus $150 for the min of 5 lbs. Probably better off taking the fly screen to the paint shop and have them mix up a rattle can of base and a get a rattle can of 2k 2 part clear for and some self etching primer.

I'm going to take on the paint duties myself, and let someone else bake the subframe. IF I don't just paint it and put some wear strips on it afterwards.

I wish Saturday would hurry the hell up and get here!

When i bought my bike the previous owner had the subframe powdercoated. I sanded it smooth, self etch primered it and then base and cleared it. Never had any issues -

here is mine all painted.

Isn't that a pre-recall rear shock? Your x1 is quite the stunner.

Looks like a first recall shock, which I think would have been standard issue by the time the X1 shipped. I do not believe the X1s got the shock recalls that the earlier models did.

That's a much older iteration of Marc's X1 BTW, it looks insane now : ).
