Airtech shipped the new Ducati SS fairing for Gloria right at the 4 week mark as promised. A quick "Hold it up to the bike" shows that I am much closer to the look I envision, but I have to modify the fairing bracket (Again) to raise the headlight a bit and move the fairing mount points. The S2T bars I had planned on using are going to be a no-go - I will save them the next rescue. I am considering trying clip ons....eBay is flooded with inexpensive 54mm billet clip ons, but they all have 7/8" handlebars with them, and I am using the stock 1" controls. Has anyone run those ebay clip ons? Any thing to be wary of? It looks like there is enough meat to bore the handlebar hole out for 1" and I have a bandsaw and 1" stock, so I do not think it will be too challenging to convert a set of the clamps to 1" Thoughts? | ||

Have you thought about modifying the clipons by cutting and re welding the bars? I once had Chainsikle make a set of billet clip ons for a Sportster project with an S2 front end. It was effective but pricey ($225 at the time) and not as pretty as the lightweight billet stuff out there now. | ||

You mean the stock bars? No - no way - these are S2Ts and are sort of scarce. If I had a set of regular S2 bars, I might try those and see if they get where I need them to be, but I think it will need to be more traditional 7 degree style clipons. I have LSL clip ons and s2 Roma forks ( clip ons are on top of the top triple tree) for my X1, that are fantastic and I fully recommend them, what about a 7/8 spud in the 1" bars so that they fit the 7/8 bore of the clip ons? (Message edited by Jolly on June 20, 2014) | ||

Yup - was thinking that way as well. Or just turning down some thicker walled stock - something like .200" wall 1" aluminum... but to get from 7/8" to 1" should only take about .063" from the wall thickness of the clip on - it looks in the picture that there would be sufficient meat - and frankly, I am better with a drill press than I am a lathe, | ||

You can buy adapters from Joker Machine that will allow the use of H-D controls for 1" bars on 7/8" handlebars. To be honest you can make some yourself with some 7/8" plastic plumbing pipe. Cut around 2" of pipe off the end and then cut it in half longtitudanally. You then put these on the bars as spacers and fit your 1" controls over the top  | ||
