LOL - just came to post the same thing! signature plate for 1B***********300131 was hoping it was for 145 or 202...or, maybe...018... Whoever has the registry - If 131 is registered, can you ping the owner? |

Court, in your case, I am not surprised - but how many of those did you buy on eBay, vs dumpster diving in East Troy? It seems to me that a serial numbered signature plate doesn't really have much value unless you also have the bike associated with it. Even if they did mix up the numbering at the factory, as you said, there is only one bike that #131 associates with. Maybe the owner of that one is one of the 5 bidders, but that means 4 out of 5 of the bidders are buying the plate for some other reason - maybe they are just memorabilia collectors, but maybe the plan is to somehow raise the value of some S2 in their mind by claiming it has "Signature" status, when you and I both know that ALL S2s and S2Ts are considered "Signature" editions, even if the paperwork never got to the owner. Just doesn't make sense to me...That's all |

I purchased all of them on eBay, the last one for about $175. I, having likely met more Buell owners than anyone other than Erik, stand a fair chance of finding the owner. I also have access to all the original artwork and project development info from when the Signature Series campaign was launched. Interesting enough a Badwebber came upon it in the most unusual manner about 7 years ago. |
