Sounds like the brake and running light wires are switched. |

Make sure the throttle grip is hard up against the brake perch. Brake light will stay on if not. |

Its easy to break the brake-light switch when attaching the brake-lever perch to the handlebars. Put it all together away from the switch-housing, then slide it into place. |

I bought a wiring harness from a fellow BWBer and want to make sure it's correct for a 95. The tag on it says: Y0200.8 & YH3B. A zip tie covers where the next digit would be, if there is another. Is this correct for a 95 S2? |

Yes, 69559-94Y superseded to Y0200.8 |

My S2 parts book says 69559-94Y for '94 and 69530-95Y for '95 and '95 California. So I don't know how the tag relates to that. Maybe someone has their tank off and can take a look. |

S2s built in 1994 were considered and VIN numbered as 1995 model year. 69530-95Y is listed in the catalogs I have as fitment for "96-S2 / S2T and "also used on 1995 California S2 models". I compared to a spare S2 harness I have, Y0200.8 is correct. |

Thanks guys, sounds like I have the right one. Now I need to find harnesses and/ or plugs for everything at the front of the bike. PO jacked up the wiring when he cut all the plugs off. Just discovered today that when applying the front brake, the headlight and tail lights both dim. Then I can hear a click and the headlight brightens again. This thing could be a bear to figure out, but will be sweet once back on the road. At least it didn't get chopped or parted out and I can take credit for saving another one! |

Rebuilt carb and was able to ride it some 20 miles before dark. Seems to run great! Speedo quit working. Suggestions on what to check, please. This is going to be fun getting this thing all cleaned and polished up; can't wait to get the fairing reinstalled! |

Well, I finally got my S2 all back together and I think I did quite well for a bike w/2300+ original miles for $2000. Fresh fluids and filter last weekend and I've already got close to 3K miles on it already. The more I ride it, the more I love it. I love my S3T and it'll always be my first, but I'm truly infatuated w/the S2! What you think? How'd I do?
Went on a 200+ mile ride today and visited a park where my family used to always camp, boat, fish, ski, swim, etc. I forgot how beautiful it was and it's especially nice w/my S2 sitting there!
Hard to believe this is the same bike I brought home 6-7 weeks ago that wouldn't even run. Now it runs immaculately and looks the way it's supposed 2...S2, that is.

Yes, cable was broke and bought a new one a little longer to fix the angle issues a both ends. Braided stainless, which looks better! $20 at a local custom bike shop. |

Cool beans - you ming want to put some shrink wrap over any part of the outer cable housing that might rub - braided stainless can be a little abrasive. |

I think this paint job is really cool! If it didn't have bubbles, it'd be show bike quality. |

Since it DOES have bubbles...it's Buell quality :-) |

Looks like fun! I think the only folks who don't understand the S2 attraction are those who have never ridden one. |

A tip to prolong speedo cable life: Loosen your axle nut, allowing the cable drive to pivot on the axle. Install the cable completely. Bounce the front end a few times. This will allow the cable drive to angle itself for the most natural position for the cable, eliminating kinks and bind points. Once you have it set...tighten your axle back up. Nice looking S2 - glad to see another one "put right" |

Thanks Joe. Seeing pics of tours and others' on here made me want one in the first place. Thanx for the tip on the speedo cable! That's just one of the many things I need to tidy up on the bike to get it as close to perfect as possible. But, its a damn fine looking and running machine as is! I couldn't be more pleased with the bike at this point! |
