Among all the bikes in the "screensaver" thread, and I thought some of them were pretty tasty, was this one, but I can't remember who posted the pics. I think it's an amazing looking bike, and I'm curious about a few bits: Any idea what type of wheels it has? And is it just me or is the tank taller and bigger at the back? (Does anyone know who it belongs to?) cheers, lemonchili

Beats me, but I would be interested in the headlights, instrument(s) and front fender. Actually, the wheels look like some I have seen in the classified ads of the US MC mags. |

I'm guessing the forks/brakes/front guard are off a GSXR1000 or R1 maybe... The lights look like some I've seen in UK magazines. I can find the details if you want. A friend said the wheels might be OZ Racing wheels, but they have too many spokes... whatever they are, I can't afford them, but I still think it's a great looking bike. Hope I get mine looking as nice one day |

Wheels look like PVM Y-spokes. http://www.pvm.de/w/e/mo/index.html US Importer: http://www.ema-usa.com/wheels/wheels_PVM.shtml I would imagine that the tank is a one off. The seat and belly pan look like RRC parts, rear sets are LSL. Looks good doesn't it? |

The triple clamp with four screws is unusual but that and the black paint make it hard to say. Lemon might be right. If anything those calipers look very similar to Tokico's four-pots but they're usually painted gold. That said, the fork bottoms and radial set-up is closer in looks to last years and this years GSX-R1000, and this years GSX-R750, though the front hugger does not look stock Suzuki. Definitely not off any model R1 though. Rocket |

I was guessing just because it had radial calipers. Just did some digging - I think the guard/fender might be off a Ducati 998. Just had a quick look at the PVM site... mmmm, tasty wheels |

I looked at lots of pictures and that hugger threw me. Now I'd concur with you Lemon, that looks just like the front section of a 998 hugger. Interesting how it mounts up seemingly perfect with the fork bottoms. Hmm, they don't look like any Ducati forks I know. Rocket |

This bike has me hooked now... and the more I look the more I'm curious about all the bits on it The wheels, triple clamps and calipers are PVM bits. Thanks for the link Simond. They make new fork bottoms for radial calipers too, so maybe the forks could be a combination of parts. I've seen those headlights somewhere but I can't remember where... Hmmm.... wonder what my bike would look like with an all black motor... cheers, lemonchili |

Just checked the luckyhands and rauso sites quickly... dribble, dribble, drool... Thanks Donnervogel I hadn't noticed the tail was different 'til now. Is it your bike? (Rocket, maybe we'll never know... ) Just for fun, one of my other fav X1's: cheers, lemonchili |

Rocket - I can't remember! I found it early this year when I was looking for Buell wallpapers, I'll have to look through my "Favorites" and see if I saved it. It's how I'd like my bike to look - a few blacked-out bits, a few polished bits, but generally lean, mean and simple cheers, lemonchili PS Always looking for Buell wallpapers, particularly X1's and S1's |

Thought so Lemon. If I'm not mistaken I took that picture! It's an X1 I spotted in Metz, France about four years ago. I forget the name of the dealer there, Milwaulkee Twin or something, who'd built some cool custom Buells, that being one of them. Rocket |

Rocket...That pic has been in a lot of different places and is featured in the X1 Files. If you took that pic, I am truly jealous!!! The bike and the environment have provided me with many hours of mental entertainment especially in the winter months. Edited to mention that I was referring to the Yellow X1. It's a great pic, Rocket, I hope it was meant to be on the web for me to use as my wallpaper. I change my wallpaper a lot, but I often change it back to that yellow X1. If I can get my bike to have that same look/feel I'd be pretty happy! I'm pretty sure I found it on a european site but I still can't remember which one and haven't been able to find it again. I do remember they had it in 800x600 and 1024x768 sizes. Outrider - Found 'em! I think this might be the same lights - doh! can't get the link to work. They're on Trojan Horses site at http://www.britnett.net/Trojan-Horse Products/listings/126.html They're also here with a few other things http://www.bbbikeshop.co.uk/acatalog/Browse___Best___Buy_Headlights___Visors_31. html Not sure if they'd be available for US (ie wrong side of the road) though cheers, lemonchili |

If tank is an X1 where do the trim pieces under tank come from(to get rid of the bulky air box and other side too.)} |

Donner posted earlier, the tank on the black X1 is from German company http://www.luckyhands.de/ My guess is they modified an S2 tank. Regarding the yellow X1. I think I took that picture outside a shop in Metz, France, called Milwaukee Twin. Milwaukee Twin run a website that our French buddies will be well familiar with, PLANETBUELL. Check out Buell De Joes in particular, in the Vos Motos gallerie. I've a hunch this is the same bike but less modified than in the pic posted in this thread. I could be wrong of course! If you take a peep at Buell Scorpion De Marc, have a sick bowl to hand, and don't say I didn't worn you. Rocket |

Rocket & Lemon...Thanks for the info. Too much Eye Candy to digest right now. Looks like it will make a fine winter project. Really like the headlight/windscreen combo on the Buell Racing Motor 3 from the PlanetBuell website. Now all I need to do is figure out combo of headlights, flyscreen and instruments that was used and start placing some orders. Thanks again! |

Donnervogel - If you ever see the owner of either bike, please pass on my compliments Scabs101 - If you're looking for tank accents like on the yellow bike to get rid of the airbox and scoop on the other side, try American Sport Bike, one of the BadWeb sponsors. I think they're under Buell, then X1/X1W. www.americansportbike.com I looked at the bikes on R+R and PlanetBuell and rauso and luckyhands. Mmmm mmm mmm, some very tasty bikes So the rear innerguard/fender has already disappeared off my bike, and I'm working on some ideas for alloy belt guards. And I think my summer project (too hot to ride here in Feb!) will be polishing the swingarm... cheers, lemonchili |

Or maybe painting the swingarm and engine covers black... And, yeah, the Scorpion is a little over the top... |
