I am about to change the pilot jet on 2000 M2 to one from American Sport Bike.
Also going to change the choke cable and replace the some of the gaskets.

The reason for the jet change is a vance and hanes exhaust. It is currently sputtering from time to time at low speed.

Any Advice ?

Get the allen screws for the carb bottom/top. I replaced an allen on the right side that holds the cable support to a hex head (5mm)
Don't burn yourself on adjusting the Idle Air Pilot screw...
As far a what jet, I went back to the stock one when I changed my needle, so...I wasn't happy with any of the common choices. Tried 44, 45, 46, 48. Couldn't find a 47 as I recall.

I re did my pilot jet to a #45 as well as raised the needle 0.050", while you are at it, change the three intake gaskets. I have a V&H and Force Winder set up. My bike is still cold natured, it takes about 15 minutes to get up to temperature. I got all the information from BWB, I messed up on oversizing the vacuum slide, I grabbed the wrong drill bit and oversized the hole to 0.140" (9/64" instead of 7/64") think it might have messed up with WFO throttle.

Yeah, might be better to keep all your changes "reversible" until you're convinced its good. I looked a long time for some specific needles, couldn't find them, went back to Joe Mintons idea about the N65C, but now I'm going to try shimming that .040". (only because the shims are .020, and .060 is too much.)

@Imadog, you should be able to fill that with JB weld or high-temp Silver solder and re-drill to 7/64".

46 worked for me, but its only a low speed jet.

now i have a CV44 but was one of Bobby Woods 43.5 Rebel carbs i've owned for over 10 years & used it on a twin cam dyna, had it so used it on my M2 works good. gave it a test on my friends dyno jet 250i power & torque both looked good so did afr so left it as it was.
