Hi all I'm a new owner of of a 2002 M2L, what a fun bike and a lot of bike for the money these things should be worth way more. I am having a little problem with the rear shock, in the manual it says to wind towards rear of bike to up the preload, this i am finding is opposite. Winding towards the front is upping the preload, is this right? I have adjusted it to it's max and it is still about 8mm away from it's ideal setting of around 400mm for my weight . Any ideas on this. Also I have the fork preload fully adjusted down to get the load correct for my weight. My weight is 90kg. Any help would be great.} |

Incorrect, you have to understand that the rear shock of these tubers work on extension when the rear swing arm is moving into the compression stage. In order to put preload on the spring, you must extend the spring to do so. Completely opposite than that of a standard motorcycle. |

I understand how this shock works, tell me this is the spring pre load adjusted the same way as the lighting? because this is wound towards the front of the bike to up the pre load |

For the M2 and M2L you wind the rear shock canister toward the back of the bike to increase the pre-load. Toward the front of the bike decreases the pre-load. |

I think you all just woke me up from a bad dream. I gotta go out to the garage and make sure I didn't do something stupid / backwards |

Cheers all I feel a bit stupid I had the missis help me with the measurements after I made adjustments and sat back on the bike, and it seemed that as I wound the canister to the back of the bike the measurement was getting less.(I was told it was getting less). Well it turns out that it wasn't, so things are looking up, and I should have it set for my weight in no time |
