I know this topic has been brought up before but how do I tell which recalls have been performed by Harley on my bike? When will Harley stop honoring the repairs? |

Any good HD dealer can run your vin and tell you what has and has not been done |

I was just at my local Harley dealer. They do not even have Buell as an option in the computer system anymore for service. Parts counter has always been helpful though an still has Buell in the system. As long as you get the right person, they are helpful. |

If you can't find a "Buell Service" dealer... Call 414-343-8400 and select #2 for Customer Care, and they can "check your VIN for open recalls". Have your VIN number ready... |

You can still check it on line through harleydavidson.com. You have to create a profile, but it will allow you to add Buell VIN's as bikes and can then look up the open recall status. I just did it on my "new" X1 a couple weeks ago... |

Thanks everyone. I went to the Harley site per Swamp2, registered and found all recalls were closed. So that's good news. |

My M2 has the 2nd shock recall with the 3rd shock paperwork. Kinda got hosed on that one, but it was the previous owner |

My HD/Buell dealer is a dedicated supporter of our Buells. They've gone out of their way to research the recalls on the 1999 X1 I picked up a few years ago. New Castle Harley Davidson/Buell (724)924-2310 Dave is the service department manager, Rob is their top dedicated Buell tech. Doubt you talk to Rob, but if you do ask about him splitting a calf in two on his ride to work and walking away with a bruised hip...oh, and a totaled Buell. ATGATT...he's proof. |
