How does the ride of the M2 compare with the tube lighting ? I mostly do long rides on the weekends and currently have a M2. Was wondering how the lightings are for long rides and does the rider sit more upright? | ||

If you mean S1 or X1 with a stock seat I suppose it's all in how comfortable you are standing on the pegs. | ||

Rode my X-1 from Juneau Alaska to Laguna Seca, although the trip to the ferry terminal doesn't count. Call it Pr Rupert, British Columbia and back. A seat pad, like an AirHawk, is nice. The most important change, for me, was to change to S3T bars. Makes for a much more upright upper body position. The 1 inch bar risers from Al at American Sport Bike is another choice. Of course, all of this is personal preference, like what are the best shoes. And on the Laguna trip I did meet 2 guys from Ontario, Canada who were also going to Laguna, and they were 'touring' on GSXR's. So pretty much what works for you. I have ridden my S1 on short trips (under 400 round trip) but I also had padded pants. Running out of gas helps, sooner rather than later... | ||

That is a cool simulator. Looks like the X-1 would have more bend in the knees and hips, theoretically slightly less comfortable on a long ride. I would expect the M2 to be more of a long-distance bike. Mine has the higher (Blast/S3T) bars, and 1" bar risers; and have the old Touring Footpeg kit (one inch drop.) I think the biggest difference in comfort was getting the Corbin seat. Way more comfortable than stock or the Pegasus seat. Wouldn't have to be Corbin, other companies make them as well. | ||

Rode my 2000 M2 from Seattle to Sturgis last year. 3000 miles later I was still comfortable on the bike and didn't want the ride to end. |
