This has probably been done before, but just an FYI. I fixed my S2 sidestand leaning issue by using JB weld putty to fill the pocket the sidestand drops into on the side plate. The pocket does not secure the stand when leaned over, so it does not function as designed anyway. I cleaned the pocket with a tooth brush and degreaser and let it dry completely. I then pressed in the JB weld, flattened it with a putty knife and smoothed it even with the rest of the side plate. I put a rolled up piece of paper (I had pre-fitted) through the bolt hole to keep it from closing up. Once the JB weld was dry, I tore out the paper and used a 3/8 drill bit to clean the hole out. I then put the stand back on with the large washer on the (now sealed) pocket side and it's like having a normal sidestand (see side by side lean angles with my M2 in pic). When not in use, the sidestand retracts to the normal stock closed position. (Please ignore my dogs pornographic pose in foreground ) (Message edited by trouble_enabler on December 25, 2013) |

Thanks! The hardest part to get used to is, I've almost thrown it over and dropped it onto the right side about 10 times. The ball-busting effort I needed to use before to take it off the stand is no longer necessary.
