I have a stock M2 and would like to lower it an inch or two. I have M2L seat. Can I put on the M2L shock and get an inch or so lower - there is one on ebay right now and I am considering getting one if it will bolt up and bring the height down a little. Thanks | ||

By no means an expert on the matter but the M2L also used a shorter kickstand and different fork height to get the overall height lower. Don't know how much you will get by lowering the shock a little without addressing the forks but they could be dropped in the tree a little too but it all will effect the handling of the bike. | ||

so if put the M2L shock on that should drop the back. Can the front be dropped by sliding the forks up a little bit ? | ||

The front can be lowered, I have heard, by doing what you described but you can still look for the M2L front forks which are lower. | ||

Oh I also remembered that if you use the M2L front and the rear shock you should find an M2L kickstand which is lower. | ||

i've lowered front & have M2L shock & stock M2 kick stand. had no problems | ||

The M2L kickstand is 1" shorter than stock. It will make a difference when parking on uneven surfaces. | ||

i just take care, always have. to me its not a problem, if it was i would just make a shorter kickstand. what about bikes with longer shocks than stock. they will lean over a lot more. that would be more of a problem. this bike well balanced. also if ground uneven look for a low spot for kickstand 1" lower than wheels. i've loaded bike up to travel with M2L shock no problem. my bike never been dropped 90,000k up ride it all year round |
