When this happens you will loose the oil seal end cap PN 12030 ... Clean the outside of the BEARING,needle PN 35051-89 ... Put on a little BLUE LOCTITE and lightly tap the bearing back is in, then tap the oil seal in(do this after you properly adjust the DRIVE BELT) ... PM me for DRIVE BELT ADJUSTMENT Class 101 which stops this MYSTERY PROBLEM... |

Thanks for update - the bearing has'nt come off completly, the exterior housing prevented that. Your description for repair would have me leave the pulley mounted while tapping bearing back in? Then replace oil seal after realignment of belt? I am curious what has become of the second needle bearing behind this one? Has it started to walk out as well ? Any ideas. Thx SD |

That is the same PN 35051-89 BEARING,needle and is removed from the only from the other side of GEAR ASM.,fifth-mainshaft PN 35034-94 ... You need to get the FACTORY SERVICE MANUAL and PARTS BOOK for your YEAR/MODEL BUELL, so that you can get the big picture of these components ... |

I had this exact problem on my S2. Yes, it pushed out the oil seal, and the only thing holding the bearing race in was the fiberglass sprocket cover. The seal was laying in the bottom of the cover. I carefully tapped the bearing back in, and the seal as well. Of course after a few miles of riding it started making it's way back out again. Buellistic - I'm very interested in your solution, as I believe this problem is a result of a spun bearing, and I've not heard of fixing that with Loctite. I take it you've actually had success with this? |
