guess our bikes are not found of flimsy plastic mountings. Last week my M2 shook of my GoPro cam after passing two cars in the twisties. Luckily the cam didn't hit the driver behind me, but got munched by the pavement nonetheless.
I only recovered the cam, battery and sd-card. Housing and the sheared of mount was nowhere to be found.
The cam itself is toast but at least I was able to partially recover the videos.
Next time I'll get myself aluminum mounts and some kind of a safety leash.
GoPro offered me a discount of 40% on a new cam and was very supportive, but sadly "due to strong vibes, there is no warranty case".
Mind sharing your ideas about secure mounts? Thanks.
I THINK the bottom thread on most cameras is 1/4"-20. I'll bet a proper bicycle seat post clamp with a long enough bold would stick that sucker to your bars for sure. Might take a little time getting lined up. A BMX version might be a little cooler, maybe anodized in the color of your choice??
I don't think the gopro was the threaded hole on the bottom. I have done that with other cameras, need a bolt, conduit clamp and a couple wing nuts and lock washers and you have a very sturdy handlebar mount.
