I am hoping to install a lower rise handlebar on my X1. Any suggestions that won't affect tank clearance? |

I use the Fat Bar Combo from Precision Engineering to adapt my favorite MX bend bars. T |

the BikeMaster brand $25 "superbike bend" handlebar is what I use on my S1. It has less rise than OEM, and no interference issues, it's so cheap it won't hurt to try, but also extremely well made for the price. Can usually be had on ebay or amazon for~$20 shipped....but available thru any motorcycle shop too however... (Message edited by onespeedpaul on July 06, 2013) |

@preybird....those are "clubman bars" and you've got them mounted upside down just FYI... |

I "designed" a cradle that converts to 1 1/8 bars, worked with a machines from the forum and arrived at a great solution and final design (special thanks to Gmaan03!), I run 1 1/8 bars that taper to 7/8 bars for controls and has about the same bend as Ducati monster bars. I have it on my S1W with the manta tank. if there is some interest I can see what the unit cost would be and how long it would take. I have full steering deflection with about a 1/4 inch to spare without hitting the tank which is far better than many 7/8 bars I was trying to run, everything I used would hit the tank. this gives it a VERY "street fighter" stance and I feel like great position and control. this would also let you run Buell CR bars which are 1 1/8 bars. for reference, I'm 44, 5'8" and 180lbs. I do not currently have a way to turn very many of these though I do have the design set in a program still with Gmaan. He did this as a side project for me on time off so he may not have the capability to turn a bunch but I could do some research I suppose and find a machine shop and could some quotes...

@onespeedpaul---- I know that bro! And those are old pictures when i used to track race the bike. I have tried many bars upside down and normal. This way you get a mild clip on feeling and great clearance! The best set up i have found on this bike. |

I put some bars from a cityx on mine. No clearance issues with the tank, and and have nice "midly" aggressive ergos. |

@Blackjoe - My 1st thought was the CityX. "Mildly aggressive" is what I should have stated at the start. Trying to get as much input as I can now, as this is a planned offseason project. |

Here's a shot so you can see how they look -
Note, when I swapped out the bars, I also went with a lowered dash from RRC. These bars may not work at all with the stock dash, FWIW. |

@preybird... some of the 1125CR guys are doing the same thing, flipping them over. |
