Hey, I was thinking about putting a set of clip on handle bars on my 99 m2 cyclone. It will be used mostly for the track. Has anyone done this before? Have a suggestion about tank clearance or if its even a good idea? Thanks, |

It can be.done but.am easier alternative mat be a set of crossroads. They bolt to the stock bar clamp holes/ mounts and are like clip ons |

I have the euro components fairing on my x1 and I have bought s2 forks which are taller and extend above the top clamp, and then I can mount clip-ons above the top clamp which will clear the tank... its an expensive route to go, but the set up I have now is a set of clubman style bars which I just hate looking at so I'm swapping the forks so that I can run clip-ons...but needed to get above the top tree and the s2 forks are the perfect fit.... |

Malcolm, Take a look at this thread: http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/476 23/707736.html?1367207426 Yes, it can be done, and for the track it's that much more doable... but for a street bike you'd be better to try other options. Another thing to think about though, is how much weight in fuel do you want for the track, because the angle you have to put the actual clip-ons at with the Manta tank is pretty dang uncomfortable, but with the slim tank (pre 1999) it's more bearable. Also I think the S2 fuel cell will work with the tuber frame, and it doesn't need to be pretty to win.... and since it's gonna be on the track... (Message edited by littlebuggles on June 16, 2013) |
