There's many choices depending on what style you like one of the most popular is the carbon fiber 'ham can' over a K&N filter and backing plate these were originally factory race parts but now several other places make them check american sport bike and maybe nhrs or hammer performance the other popular one is the elbow a 90 degree tube that bolts onto the carb originated as the Forcewinder it has been copied by many including H-D since my knee doesn't clear the Ham Can I went with the elbow somebody has them on eBay for a hundred bucks which is less than half of what they went for originally it includes a K&N hose-clamped to the leading end of the elbow for my money that would be a 'best buy'. The kit has all you need except a carb gasket, which usually runs about $1 each so buy a few. |

I bought a 4" round universal air filter at autozone for $10...cut the flange off the back, then drilled it for the three airbox mounting bolts on the throat of the carb...when the paper filter went bad after about 15000 miles, I replaced with a k&n i got off amazon for $10... Bike runs great, maybe a little better than stock? Certainly looks better... |

I had a hot-rod air cleaner ( like a 3 deuce setup ) on before I put a K&N cone on the factory helmholtz tube. The Helmholtz tube/snorkel added 4 mph to my unsanctioned local 1/4 mile |

Stock breadbox is best setup - doesn't look the best, but is calibrated specifically for your M2. Getting harder to find, BTW... |

Here's my snorkel (and home-made breather tubes). Lotsa locals wonder why I don't shorten it. I don't have time to explain the math

I agree with Genesis. The stock air box really does work best and the MPG is also the best. It really is the finest way to combine power, torque, hp, mileage and keep it quiet (which I like). I have a spare in case. |

Coxster is that the part inside the box you modified to fit. I would keep the big box if the guy before I owned it didn't drop it in his garage on that side it is totally broken behind it |
