As some of you that have been following my PMX build know, I do not have a fuel tank for this bike as of YET. BUT……necessity is the mother of reproduction!! I have a plan>>>> My RSS will be here on Saturday. The fuel tank is in primer right now so, I am going to see if it will fit in my friends vacuum molding machine at his chocolate factory. Than I can fabricate ONE, or a HUNDRED in fiberglass from there. With a perfect negative mold I think it will work out just fine. If all goes well, I just might reproduce a bunch in the fall/winter to help get a few more of these great bikes on the road again YES, THEY WILL BE SEALED INSIDE. Any interested parties??? I will not install or sell an inferior product on MY bike or YOURS you can rest assured of that, OCD will not allow it. Ride Safe, Chris |

It's actually "CDO". "OCD" isn't alphabetized correctly. |

I will keep all informed as another "project" I don't have time (but a huge need) for progresses. Big on ideas, Big on hopes, Small on time I need to be sure the powers that be are ok with it also. |

This is basically what Air Tech already did: splashed the factory parts and remanufactured them. Making the lower half and making parts thick enough to bond together without leaks will be quite a job. |

I was just cruizing AirTech and saw they re listing parts for RSSs and BattleTwins. Just in case you want to save money on tooling up... Of course, I am probably missing something here...I get the part about the tanks actually being sealed inside, which the airtechs are not. |

Since all my RS stuff is gone, can I get one in CHOCOLATE? I like chocolate. Partial to the dark stuff.

Al, Do you want the whole bike in chocolate or just a tank?? I've been in preservation mode on the RSS. I haven't done anything with the tank yet. The tank is some piece of art. My tank off of the RSS is in pretty good shape considering. I will keep all updated.. Ride safe, Chris |

The RS bodywork I had that was the take-off stuff for the "S2" mods got sold a while back (5 or 6 yrs, IIRC)was in pretty good shape. It was the white version, with blue lettering and maybe a bit of striping, also in blue. Again, not sure if I'm remembering it all. I'm not sure why but the white RS units appeared butt-ugly to me, whereas the black, blue and red ones are gorgeous. Especially the black RSS bikes - pure art! The tank was the worse of all the parts, as it had the usual serious liner flaking happening. It was also broken on the left front flange area where the 2 gas elec. switches were. That is a VERY fragile area, so treat accordingly. There were a couple of small bubbles in the paint, too. Lots of banter about liners and old liner removal/replacement over the years, not sure if any resolution was ever made. I'm not sure how many of these old RS/RSS units are left - you may want to do a thorough survey to see if there's enough demand for tanks to warrant any substantial investment in re-popping them. They are still able to be sourced from Air Tech, apparently, though I've yet to see an example. I've heard varying reports as to quality and/or leakage, so maybe there's need for a better quality tank to keep the bikes on the road. We better leave it at just the chocolate tank, I really don't have room for the whole chocolate bike. Probably melt in the garage and make a mess. Watching my girlish figure, too. If I ever get back to the east coast, I'm gonna want to tour your friend's chocolate factory.
