I had to go to Birmingham for a business trip on Monday and I found myself with a couple of free hours. I went to the Barber Motorcycle Museum outside of town. They had an 86 RR1000, RR1200, RSS 1200, Westwind and even a new EBR 1190RS. Fantastic Museum. If you ever get to Birmingham, you have to see it. I liked it much more than the Harley Museum in Milwaukee. |

What you saw on display only scratches the surface of what there is. Most excellent place to visit. I could lose an entire weekend or more in there. Making plans to go back again. |

The very best time there is their Vintage Bike Days. I believe the first weekend in October. Vintage Racing on their great track, a swap meet, lectures, and an auction. Preferential parking for motorcycles. Each Year they feature a different marque. The year I went was Moto Guzzi. Also some good windy country roads. I believe their website is BarberMotorsports.com |

Yup. Barber in October for Vintage Days is the best I've been to. Racing, swap meet, auctions, beautiful grounds, the Museum that over looks the track. The Vintage Japanese club puts a nice breakfast on Saturday morning. It' an annual event I try not to miss!

I like how the place is laid out. One floor overlooks the one below it. The Board Track racing display is pretty awesome. |

I would really hate to be the crew that dusted the place. Then again... |
