mine is rusted horribly at the caliper. Assuming I can remove it without it breaking off, which lines are interchangeable and if not which years rear brakes will bolt on? Sorry to be asking this, but search as I might I couldn't get an answer. |

Does the 98 S1 have the Brembo or Nissin caliper? There was a Brembo for the pre 99 models for sale earlier this year, i can find the link if you can tell me which brake your bike has. The Nissin brake hasn't changed from 99-2010 XB's so if your 98S1W has a Nissin, any model year will swap out. |

I have a 96 S1 with a 2000 aluminum swingarm I am using the brembo set up the stock hose for the s1 works and now I use a stainless X1 hose with a banjo bolt pressure switch in the master cylinder. The m2 hoses have part steel formed line and they do not. Thats what I have on hand to give info on. There are also build your own kits but they are not cheap! |

Thanks! Yes the S1W and it has a nissin marked 714 on the inner side and Buell on the outer side. small 6 V (or N) engraved in top. I've been spending too much money on this bike lately and would just like to get her done for the season . . . at least til the tires are gone |

I've got an XB (Nissin) rear caliper and line that will work, you'll need to get the XB switch too, and you can change the plug out, or you are welcome to the caliper, it's the same as your S1's |
