My bike has developed (2) issues over the winter that I need some help with.

Issue number 1 - my bike has developed an oil leak at the base of 2 wires going into the top of the transmission behind the rear cylinder. I have tried looking in the service manual but I can not figure out what these wires are for and what I need to order to fix the leak.

below are some pics of the wires

Issue 2 - The bike shifted fine when I parked it late last fall but now the bike is having issues with neutral. The neutral light will not come on so I cannot have it idle on the kickstand. About a month ago I took it for a long ride and the neutral light started working and the bike started shifting correctly after 45min to an hour after riding. I tried this again 2 weeks ago but it never started working. The bike is also more difficult to get in neutral than it was before. Any ideas what is going on?

Clutch dragging, stator wires, yes they leak. Get a new starter seal while you're in there.

I believe the plug with the wires is your alternator wires exiting the primary. It's just a rubber plug that eventually starts to leak. If you ever go into the primary for other reasons you can seal it with high temp RTV. It's a common problem.

Drain and replace your primary fluid with fresh fluid and make sure you clean the metal off of the magnetic drain plug. The excess metal in the primary collects around the neutral sensor and causes it to fail. You probably have water in your fluids mucking it up which could also do the same thing.

Can the seal around the wires be replaced or just patched with sealant?

What do you mean by a dragging clutch?
