So I was changing my crank seal after the rear vent tube puked transmission fluid all over my belt. I noticed it had been changed before and somebody butchered the removal. Didn't even have the decency to use the updated seal... I cleaned up the scoring on the bore with a plastic brush on the dremel. But I noticed that the retainer on the bearing has a burr on it. The burr is away from the bearing but I wanted opinions if this will kill the bearing in the long run. I'm not sure how these are packed, but I can shift the rollers from side to side with a small screwdriver and the retainer is loose-ish on top.

They're not really "packed"...they're lubed with engine oil pressure, hence the seal between it and the primary. My thought is, if you weren't hearing bearing noise from it...let it run for a while and keep an ear on it. |

Those bearings are what sets the end play on your crankshaft. The spacer locks them together, they are a press fit on crankshaft. Should be fine but hard to see in a small picture. |
