Hello all. I have pulled the timing chest cover off my RS1200 to change the oil pump drive gear. Unfortunately for me, both of the rear cylinder camshafts fell out of the engine when I pulled the cover. I cannot see any timing marks on the camshafts so I cannot retime the cams correctly, Any ideas how I can get this motor timed again? Thanks. |

No little dots? How the hell did the FACTORY install them? |

Nope. No dots to be seen. No idea how the factory built the motor! It's got me puzzled anyhow. |

There must be timing marks. The pinion gear will have a dot while the cam gears will have lines. Look again, I am sure the marks didn't wear off... PM Me, I have a 1986-2003 sportster manual which should help. |
