Anyone have a source for S3 fairing bags? original or reproduction? Mine are so faded theyre a dingy grey and I would like to get a new set. back when I used to fly for the AF we hit a lot of "street shops" around the world that could make anything...Korea, Turkey..etc...just wondering if anyone has a path to original bags, or if they have sourced good reproduction ones... |

For now you could try black shoe polish, see if that dresses them back up some... |

So no source for new bags eh? I think Ill try some of these home remedies...but maybe track down some of those custom shops and see if they can be duplicated....thanks for the input on how to "restore" mine... |

How about the spray fabric paint? Might last longer. |

I came across this on the KLR forum blackibags.com. His prices looked reasonable for stuff he sells a run of, I don't know about his prices on custom stuff. Maybe approach him as using your bags as a sample template and telling him you can help market him to Buell riders. |

Thanks, I shot him a note and I've also reached out to one of the shops we used to stop by when bouncing around the world. a little far to go for some simple bags but I had a leather jacket made there and they really have great quality. I would prefer to support Buell....but since they don't make them anymore..... |

I may have a new set. I ordered some from harley in 2011. They were in the Obsolete Parts book I think. First set I ordered was for the s3 and would not fit the S2 then I ordered a set for the S2. I will need to dig around and see where I put them. If you have a part number have you local dealer check. I was surprised they were still available |

thanks for the part numbers, I'll give the local dealership a call and see if they are still available. Mark61: if I find anything I'll let you know. as a worst case scenario I may ship my faded and torn bags out to a company to see about reproduction if they are no longer available by part numbers. |

I called the HD shop in Annapolis MD, spoke with Walter in the parts department. they are still available and have new numbers. Left bag: 58611-97Y = C0451-E Right bag: 58610-97y = C0450-E having the original part numbers helped tremendously, couldn't get anywhere without that as a starting point. thanks Jramsey! |

Jolly, any ideas on the price for the new bags and have you actually tried to order them? |

43.00 each from Annapolis HD, they say they can have them in about 5 days. they did not say how many sets were available, but that they could get them and that HD still had them. |

I called back to the Annapolis store and they were nice enough to patch me through directly to the shop number that had the bags in stock instead of charging me for shipping twice...apparently the bags are only available in 4 different locations and only one location had both sides listed as available. I picked up both bags for 35 each...it may be the last set out there...unless one of the other locations has a left and another shop has the right..I didn't do that much research. however, according to the computer there are only three locations left with bags listed as available. |

I ordered the bags on Wednesday and they boxed them up and shipped them that day. I received them on Friday. the new bags look great!! I don't think there is a full set left anywhere according to what the Annapolis shop found in their computers so I sent my old bags out to see if they could be reproduced just in case I need another set in the future. |

yep, I am sure they can match any color! the material is heavier than the stock material as well..Ill take a photo installed on the bike and post later tonight or this weekend. the blue emblem ones that came with the bike are still available through HD, in fact I found kutteronline to be a great source of parts..ask for Anthony (see post above). I headed down this path when I couldn't find stock replacement bags, while waiting for these I found stock ones. PM me (leave email address) if you want info on where to get these reproduction ones. |

A friend is helping me work on fabricating replacement fairing bags, with improvements over the originals. Rev.1 prototype done, rev.2 prototype coming soon. |

the ones I had made in the photo above are copied from the stock pattern and size though they are made out of heavier material than stock ones but same pattern. I have some old stock ones that are faded terribly that you could borrow if you want to look at for pattern and fitment... let me know, unless you are already well on your way to success! PM me and I can mail them to you if you want and can return them. |

Mine won't have emblems. I don't own the rights. |
