Unfortunately you will never get what you have into it. Just like a muscle car its the love we put into them! My guess is 4500 from the right person if you are in a hurry 3500. Just my 2 cents. |

Oh yes, I know I'd never get out what I put in her, but there could always be the option of parting out all the extra goodies if I didn't get the right offer...If I happened to put her up for sale that is. |

put the old parts back on and sell the goodies. The oil bag, PM wheels and Penske alone could easily bring in $1,500. |

Keep it alive and whole if at all possible. That volcano gray with the orange frame...well, it pisses me off every time I see it because it looks so GOOD (and my volcano gray '01 has a black frame lol). Beautiful M2. Lots of great stuff and a ton of love went into building it. It would truly be a shame to part it out, although (and congratulations!) it would absolutely be for a good cause. Hopefully you'll find a way to keep it together, and make everything work with the Little One. |

Sure Wilson...because out of the six I own now, only four have tags on them...why not have another decoration? Maybe if I didn't already have my own height-converted M2(was)L, in volcano gray...that's one of the ones not tagged...although it may very well go on the road this season. A painter buddy of mine is shooting my new front fender (for the USD front end) and I may just put tires on it and ride the damned thing this year. For anyone who IS looking, though...if Wilson decides to sell it, this is a NICELY done Buell. Definitely built 'right'. Hopefully he can keep it - I know he's going to miss it, but like I said above, it's definitely a good reason. But if he can't...I'd suggest folks pay whatever he asks. This is not a "book value" Buell, this is love and affection on wheels. That said...I hope you find a way to keep it, Wilson. The kid will look good on it one day! |

whats your ZIPCODE? I JUST missed an 02 X1W in Daytona with 5K original miles- mint, went for $2500 on Craigslist. In fact when I called they were picking it up. I've spent almost 2x that trying to get mine right! (Message edited by buellx1w on March 27, 2013) |

the little ones will reduce your riding time, BUT it's not permanent....keep the bike and adapt. OR, part it out if you really really need the money, the sum of the parts is always worth more than the whole... |

I agree with Onespeedpaul. If you need to sell, put it back to stock and sell it, and sell the parts extra. See if you can find a way to keep it, though. The bike is very personal to you, based on all the posts you have put up over the years. |

DONT DO IT!!!!!!! When your kiddos get old enough and see the pix of dad n mom on that sweet ride they will ask "Why dont you still have it?" and then youll be forced to tell them its all THEIR fault. Just think of the emotional dammage that will cause. And besides you can be the way cool dad dropping the kid off at school on a Hot Rod Bike. Just think of the children, keep it for the children. |

Wilson, I went 28 years without! Now I have four Buells with two teenagers at home. Those 28 years were spent regretting selling my Z1-B and all the fun I had on it. Don't do it! |

If you sell it you'll never get a pic like this...
or this...
or this...
What I'm saying is, never sell it if you can help it. If I'd sold mine when they were born they wouldn't be riding with me now. It's loads of fun and they think they're cool as all get out when they get their own helmet! |

This thread is effe'd up. If you must sell it Brin, hopefully it can go to someone here, who know's what they are getting. My daughter says she's going to get my bike when she learns to drive, she's even said she'll probably paint it pink! Sorry to continue the threadjack, but I think we are trying to convince you to find a way to make it work buddy:

Yeah, make it work indeed, well, to an extent. You don't want to lose your house over it but you get the picture. That has long been my favorite color combo and if I could afford another one right now I'd be all over it but mine are turning 12, 10 and 7 all next month. Congrats by the way, are you going to find out or make it a surprise? My oldest and I were on a trip last summer with a buddy and his daughter. Buddies' daughter said when he kicked the bucket (lol) she was getting his old super glide. I told mine she could sell my vulcan and do whatever she wanted and she looked at me and said she was keeping it. I know it doesn't mean much to you now but when your kid says they want to keep something of yours because of the fun times and the memories it just makes your heart well up. |

I have to chime in with the rest of the inmates: throw a cover over the bike and keep it in the garage until your circumstances permit more riding, because that day WILL come. If you decide to make a horrible mistake and sell the bike, I'm very interested in the RRC relocators and the Penske shock. |

I agree with most here. Selling it is NOT, going to solve your debt. Sell the Bike, and you are STILL in debt..... So just keep it, and when you are getting old and gray, you can wheel it out, and have yourself a REAL classic Motorcycle!!
