Hey folks, I'm getting ready to sell my 2002 M2L and will advertise it here when I decide on the price.. It's bone stock with the carbon fiber air filter option and upgraded ECM with brand new Dunlops. Only non-stock item is bar end mirrors, originals are included. It's in absolute excellent condition with 11,000 miles on it. KBB retails just over $3500 and NADA about $2700. I'm just kind of curious if those are good numbers to go with, any thoughts?

3200.00 sounds like a good starting price.
Gives you a little wiggle room.
Bought my 01 M2 3 years ago with 10 on the clock , 2700.00 cash.
Good luck and please sell it to some one that wont part it out.

I usually average the NADA and KBB values for my selling price, in your case $3,100.00 then add $200 to give me some room. Usually makes for a quick sale (if the weather is right).

The bad news is that its hard to sell a used motorcycle. If you get near book value, you probably had a very high demand bike (which is usually a result of it being trendy, not a result of it being good) or got lucky with a buyer.

I never sell my bikes in a hurry. I got tired of listing them for "book", getting somebody the first day offering "stock - X", holding the bike for 8 months while dealing with yahoos, then just finally selling the bike for pretty much the "stock -X" offer I had on the first day.

So now I buy the bike I want, get a ton of enjoyment out of it and pretty much use it up, then list it cheap to move fast when I want to sell it. I try and buy used (where the sellers sat on it for 8 months ; ) ) so when I take a bath selling it, I didn't really end up behind.

So YMMV, but if you really want to sell it, you will have to list it cheap.

I here ya Reep,, I understand that completely.. Unfortunately I'm in a position where physically I'm now unable to ride it. I hope to be back on a bike someday but it'll have to be a tourer, a trike, or maybe a side car depending on my outcome.

Book value is about what I have in it and financially I'm in no rush. I'd just like to do the best I can with it and more importantly would like it to go to a rider that will use and appreciate what it is, thanks for the input.

Looks like a nice bike. Don't forget your full race pipe when you list it Bryant, it looks like you got the whole Buell race package. Not that you'll get much back on it...

Anyway, if you have the stock parts there maybe you'd prefer to put it back to stock and sell the race kit as a set in the classifieds, or something of that sort. You'd certainly get more out of it money wise, than expecting it to bump the selling price by much. Don't know if it's just local to me but the Buell market seems a little soft.

Very sorry to hear you can't ride it, hope you are able to find something that works for you! There's not much that compares to what being out in the world like a bike does for you.
