I have thunderstorm heads on my '99 M2. They were painted black instead of left silver if I remember right. All the M2s got them '99-up |

Yes - they're thunderSTORM heads, and as noted by Coxster, they are all black. Everything 99-up had them until the change to XB bikes (and heads). In 98 only the S1W and S3 had them; they were the first. |

Lots of folks get confused because the M2 had a lower HP rating...that's all in the cams. The heads were thunderstorms across the board - carb, EFI, whatever - from 99 to the beginning of the XB days. |

Why? Changing something, need to confirm fitment, or ??? I love the yellow bikes, back to the first S1 I saw in person. Can't remember how far back, but I still vividly remember looking over that bike, thinking Man I gotta get one of these! Took over 10 years to do it. |

The first 97 Buells were regular heads. I added the thunderstorm heads and pistons to my m2. I then added the S1 cams. the original m2 cams were the stock sportster style cams, for more torque, if I remember right. |
