Anyone have pictures of a M2 with clip on bars? |

Try search on Google Images? Or Google search of this bad web? I found some like that, not sure what you're interested in... |

I have a set of clamps and bars if you need them. Brand new. I went and purchased Billet-2-Race bars instead. Not exactly an easy find either. |

Are you set on getting actual clip-ons? They drop you very low and the wide manta tank requires you to sweep the clip-ons at a fairly uncomfortable angle. If you must have clip-ons you'll likely want a different tank, maybe the skinny S1, pre-99 M2 tank. Here's a race prep'ed X1 with clip-ons, tank cover removed, this might be a S2 fuel cell, I forget all the details the local shop put into their race bike:

This is my bike with what seems to be the best compromise. It's a plate that mounts on the top of the triples and the bars mount to the top front of that (very much like the Hyabusa set-up). It was made by Crossroads:

Here's my M2L with Buell Race bars. They're actually S1 bars, so I had to add bumpers to the frame which limits my steering lock (they're designed for the smaller tank)...but I like the riding position.

They look just like the Crossroads design, I wonder if they used the same type of aluminum? I notice a little flex in the top plate when I'm moving the bike around in the garage. I've got the S1w bars for my bike to give access to the inverted fork adjusters. I bead blasted the top section of the bar and the top plate to cut down on reflected light bouncing up into my eyes. |

There's a little flex when I put a lot of torso weight on them. Not enough that I worry about breaking anything, though. |

I would not worry about breaking them i went down last year put the left side into the dirt hard bent the left bar but the plate was fine. I have heard that the Buell race version does have a thinner bar though and that there was a recall but i am not positive. I used to run the S1 version with my manta that is hard to do. I put risers under mine (Message edited by S1owner on April 27, 2013) |

That's comforting to know Ken, thanks! I just added 1" risers to mine this year and am a lot more comfortable. I really liked them bolted to the upper triple, but I did that six years ago and am feeling the difference in age now. I often find my motorcycle becomes more comfortable, the more time I spend on my road bike (bicycle). Need to step it up if I'm going to ride my Cyclone to Wisconsin next month! |

The very first archived line has the dates and the basic anticipated schedule. This is not a Buell sponsored event, just us enthusiasts getting together. My ability to go is based on several things, especially keeping the cost down, best way to do that is ride the bike, so I gotta make it work. I'm still waiting for the vacation request to be approved too. It's getting pretty frustrating not knowing if I'm gonna get cleared to go or not. |
