Hello Fellow Buell-ers. Late last fall I bought my buell from western wisconsin. The previous owner did ALOT of aftermarket work to it, I feel I 'stole" the bike from him. I didn't get the chance to take too many pictures, But I wanted to share my ride, as I would like tips on modifying it for safety and speed, as well as keeping it reliable. A little about me: I'm a 24-year old sheet metal worker in the twin cities, both my parents have "big" harleys. July of 2012 I struck the side of a girls car as she blew through a stop sign. It totaled my bike (suzuki supermoto) but I was unable to walk for 3 weeks due to the fact my left leg was the only part of my body that hit the car and took the "brunt" of the impact. I have a passion for being free and speed. I recovered almost completely, she's still a little tender. And in the fall I found this bike on craigslist for $2,800 and knew it would be safer. Bright orange, LOUD and more comfortable. It also allows me to wear an orange helmet without looking like Captain Safety. Anyways, on to the pics. Sincerely, Erik I wear motocross helmets as I rarely drive on the freeway, and I like to see/hear whats around me. Smirk for the ladies haha Modifications done by previous owner: -Rear Gas shock w/ reservoir -Vance & Hines Exhaust -Ceramic Coated header -Forcewinder intake -'Yost' Power tube & jet kit. -Billet Aluminum front engine mount -Baker Chain drive conversion -Aircraft Aluminium rear sprocket -Bar end mirrors |

nice lookin bike a few suggestions - quit being such a fan of "speed" at least on the street. Next time you may not be so lucky. They can not see an orange bike just as easy as they can not see a black one. always assume NO ONE can see you ride safe Kilroy |

Sharp looking Cyclone. Good fun torque, nice pull. These bikes are not all out speed machines, but are an absolute blast pulling away from a stop light. Your shock is a Works Performance brand. Good stuff right there. That front motor mount is a good upgrade for longevity's sake. Clean and oil your filter, it looks pretty dirty, those filters don't breath well when bunged up with dirt or with the rain sock on. You will see improved performance from that small detail. You'll also see better performance with a less free flowing muffler, the V&H doesn't provide the back pressure these bikes like for good torque. Keep your eyes open for a race header and muffler, Supertrapp, a Borla, D&D, Force system, and maybe a White Brothers, they are a disk type pipe like the SuperTrapp but are not as robust. Best money spent on these is handling mods, since you've already got a high zoot shock check into if the forks have been tuned to improve your front end to match the back. Consider gearing changes to improve off the line response. Cams are a pretty easy drop in, X1 cams are decent. XB jugs, heads, and pistons are a good way to wake up the bike too. Glad you are recovering from your crash! Ride safe, glad you have a bright helmet but as Kilroy said people can and will miss you out of general ignorance or any number of other reasons, expect it and anticipate it and you'll get further down the road. Welcome to Badweb. Mike |

Erik, If you ever need anything, I'm over in Maple Grove. I may have worked on a few of these Buell things over the years.... Brad |

70 ft-pds at 3,000 RPM ? Nice bike! I wouldn't change those cams. The shape of that torque curve looks ideal. I guess the same shape could be shifted upwards a bit, with a 1250cc kit or something... Why does the color change in the pictures from orange to red? Camera settings? The shock looks very much like the Penske that came on the used M2 I got. Agree with Littlebuggies, that air filter could probably use a bath. But as I recall, 'back in the day' their original claim to fame on dirt bikes was they flowed as much air dirty as clean. |

Great looking bike! Have fun on it but your ultimate goal is to live a long and happy life. Cagers with cell phones don't see bikes! |

Thanks guys. I have only gone over 90 when I was on a clear freeway. Usually I stick to side roads. I'm actually more of an acceleration guy. That's nice that there are some MN people on here. I'm up for a cruise around town. The bike is orange, a few pictures were taken with a gopro camera and my cell phone. The bike is the orange pearl. Looks fantastic, I'm sure i'll wax and buff it this spring. |

Just to put a fine point on the paint color. If it's stock, the color is Molten Orange. |
