My friend is converting his 99 X-1 from fuel injection to a CV 40 carb and he has found that the cables won't fit. I have heard that the swap to a CV 40 can use stock cables. Now I am wondering: Are the throttle cables and the twist grip unique to the 99 model? At this point we are trying to decide if we need different cables, a different twist grip and throttle housing, or if we are just assembling things incorrectly. Any advice would be appreciated. | ||

You should use throttle assembly from S1 the switch housing has yellow switch's.These are for carb Buells | ||

Don't use the S1 hardware. The throttle cable arrangement is not as good as the 99 and up. If you can, find an M2 set from 99-02 |
