Okay, for those of you who have the Buell Race ECM on your carbed tuber.... was there any noticeable difference over the factory one? Does anyone have any dyno results before/after the race ECM? I have been reading and seen some guys say it made a difference and others said their bike felt exactly the same after. Before I drop the money on one I wanted to check with you guys. Thanks, Spencer |

Spencer, If you plan on running a diff. cam than stock you will benefit from the higher rev, limit. Otherwise I don't see a benefit in the Buell Race ECM. IMHO However there other ECM's out there that give you more features to choose from. Multiple advance curves, single fire vs dual fire, diff. rev. limits at the flip of a switch and more. |

Umm, if you have a carbed bike you don't use an ECM, race or otherwise. A race ECM has different fueling values than a standard ECM, meaning the fuel injectors 'fire' differently. No fuel injectors, no need for an ECM. There may be different ignition systems available that can help your performance ... |

Carb.bikes have an ECM that controls ign. curves and rev. limit. |

I wouldn't call it a ECM, its an ignition box. |

Radon, dang it,ya beat me to that correction! I used Dyna 2000 set-ups on my S-2's with good results. The single fire always made mine run smoother. Even had a programmable on on the Bonneville bike. |

Your right Rich, it's an Ign. Module. But his question was, will it help his cause. |

Sorry Fireman, I use the dyna 2000i , no more box everything is in the nose cone and it is some what adjustable as much as I will ever need anyway. |

Cyclone, you pretty much hit the nail on the head about the differences. Just wanted to make sure he wasn't calling around looking for an ecm over an ignition box or module . |

I put the Race ignition box on my M2, and really couldn't tell the difference, but in my imagination, at least, it was a tad faster. When I put on the Dyna2000 single fire module and coil, then I can tell the difference, not faster, just runs smoother. Sounds better too. No dyno results, I wish i did. |

Call it what you like - the '98 M2 ignition control module bolts right up to the place where the ECM was when I ran fuel injection and the wires are compatible. The Deutsch connector can be re-pinned to match the new wire pin-out, but I soldered mine instead. |

Call it what it is, ignition module, without any mods I think its a waste of money for you. If you do have some mods then I would invest in something like Dyna or something other like it. |

I only changed because I wanted to run a VOES switch instead of a throttle position sensor. |
