So i am thinking about getting a set of clip ons for the x1 and i am wondering if any of you have them and how you feel about them. Is there a big difference? worth it? i am talking about the ones that clamp onto the fork tubes. any input is appreciated. |

My bike had a set when I got it. It puts you very low and kills the turn radius. I rode it that way for a few weeks while I sourced the parts to get it back to stock. It was rid able but not my thing. If you go forward with it don't do anything you can't undo later. |

you could always do this: http://www.convertibars.com/ I put a set on one of my bikes and I love them. Best of both worlds......JMO |

Been running clip-ons on my S1 for over ten years. I like 'em. If they are set-up correctly it won't effect steering lock. There are some out there with different heights, that are adjustable, etc. The riding position feels natural to me and it makes highway riding comfortable. |

American Sport Bike has some nice "clip on style" bars. I have them on my 98 S1W. I like them. http://www.americansportbike.com/shoponline/ccp0-p rodshow/6037.html |

+1 on the American Sport Bike ones. I had vortex clip-ons and i hated them. I bought them originally for track days but as soon as i had to ride for real it was a bad idea. I would not do it again though. Some pics for reference: Here is the stock bars next to some clubman bars. And yes they were mounted upside-down on purpose! Here are the clip-ons mounted below the factory bars so you can see how far your going to have to go. Here they are fully mounted and set up

I have the eurocomponents fairing on my X1 which came as a set with clubman style bar to sit low enough to clear the fairing. not a fan of the clubman style so the route I am going with clip-ons is the more expensive way... of course... LSL makes a a nice set of clip-ons that I purchased, and I also bought a set of forks for the S2, taller forks, so the clip-ons will sit on top of the triple tree, I also bought a top tree for an S2 so the cradle is missing. if you want clip-ons you could try that route...expensive handlebar swap though...of course the added benefit is the Roma forks....Ive got all of the pieces, I just need to find the time to get the project done! |

You have to watch the wrist angle when running clubmans. I had a set on my X1 when I bought it.....HATED them because they killed my wrists. I went with set of black Renthal street bars. I love them so far. |
